Hanze University Groningen
Founded in 1798, Hanze University Groningern, University of Applied Sciences, is the oldest multi-sectoral university of applied sciences in the Netherlands. It is also the largest university of applied sciences in the north of the Netherlands. With branches in Groningen, Assen, Leeuwarden and Amsterdam, Hanze University Groningen has a student body of over 25,000 and 2,700 staff members. The university has evolved into to a knowledge institute for practice-based research with six centres of applied research and innovation and almost forty professors. The industry, businesses and non-profit making organization are closely involved in the professorships. Research and education are closely linked up.
