The Dutch climate is characterized by moderate summers and changeable winters. Freezing temperatures and snow are not uncommon from December to February and summer days can be warm or even hot. Most of the time the weather is rather changeable: splendid blue skies followed by cloudy spells. You can expect light showers and frequent rain all year round. Don’t forget to take warm clothing, a winter coat, socks and decent shoes. You should also adopt the Dutch habit of taking a lightweight, waterproof jacket wherever you go in summer. But rest assured, you’ll still have plenty of need for summer clothes!
